The nightmare then got worse for England, as an appalling defensive line allowed Olic to burst through without being tracked, and he rounded Carson for the second goal. Desperate, McClaren once again turned to Beckham at half-time as he replaced the ineffective Wright-Phillips. Defoe also came off the bench, and the Spurs’ fourth choice striker managed to hustle a penalty which Lampard gratefully converted. And then the miracle seemed to be onn the cards as Beckham’s excellent first-time cross was well-collected by Crouch, who sent Wembley into raptures as he equalised. Then, typifying McClaren’s tenure as manager, England managed to throw it all away as Petric’s left-foot strike sailed past Carson for the killer third for the Croatians. Darren Bent missed the final chance for England as they bowed out of Euro 2008.
Turkey 1 - Bosnia 0 (Euro 2008 qualifier, November 21, 2007) Nihat Kahveci scored just before halftime to give the win which secure their place at the European Championship finals.
Belarus 2 - Holland 1 (Euro 2008 qualifier, November 21, 2007) Bulyga gave the hosts the lead, before his was involved in assisted Korytko to make it 2-0 in the 65th. Rafael van der Vaart netted a late consolation, who had already secured qualification for next year’s tournament.
Ukraine 2 - France 2 (Euro 2008 qualifier, November 21, 2007) The hosts went ahead early on through Voronin, but a beautiful turn and goal by Henry and Govou’s excellent finish put the already qualified French in front. However the game ended in a draw after Sebastien Frey failed to deal with Shevchenko’s looping header in the opening minutes of the second-half.
Slovenia 0 - Bulgaria 2 (Euro 2008 qualifier, November 21, 2007) Bulgaria beat 10-man Slovenia thanks to late goals by Blagoy Georgiev and Dimitar Berbatov.
Serbia 2 - Poland 2 (Euro 2008 qualifier, November 21, 2007) Murawski fired the Poles ahead with a clinical finish. Matusiak scored two minutes after the break to make it 2-0. Zigic pulled one back for Serbia when he headed home from close range a deflected cross and Lazovic equalised two minutes later with a diving header following a corner.
Andorra 0 - Russia 1 (Euro 2008 qualifier, November 21, 2007) Russia claimed the narrow win and qualification thanks to a header from striker Dmitry Sychev but they made hard work of it, missing a penalty just before halftime and playing the closing minutes with 10 men after the sending off of striker Andrei Arshavin.
Spain 1 - Northern Ireland 0 (Euro 2008 qualifier, November 21, 2007) Spain dominated throughout but were unable to break the deadlock until seven minutes into the second-half when Xavi beat Maik Taylor with a deflected shot from the edge of the area.
Hungary 1 - Greece 2 (Euro 2008 qualifier, November 21, 2007) Buzsaky who scored his first international goal with a deflected shot. The visitors drew level when Vanczak headed past his own keeper Marton Fulop. Basinas hit the winner from the spot.
Italy 3 - Faroe Islands 1 (Euro 2008 qualifier, November 21, 2007) Benjaminsen deflected the ball into his own net in the 11th minute, before Toni made it 2-0 , volleying home from close range. Chiellini scored five minutes later with a stunning shot from distance. Jacobsen headed in a consolation for the visitors.
Denmark 3 - Iceland 0 (Euro 2008 qualifier, November 21, 2007) Nicklas Bendtner scored the opener before goals from Jon Dahl Tomasson and Thomas Kahlenberg ensured that the Danes signed off heir campaign in style.
Cyprus 0 - Czech Republic 2 (Euro 2008 qualifier, November 21, 2007)
Portugal 0 - Finland 0 (Euro 2008 qualifier, November 21, 2007) Portugal secured the point they needed to advance to the finals of Euro 2008. The home side dominated but a fine performance from Jussi Jaaskelainen kept the game goalless.

Sweden 2 - Latvia 1 (Euro 2008 qualifier, November 21, 2007) Marcus Allback opened the scoring within a the first minute of the match, but Swedish hearts were in their mouths when Juris Laizans equalised after 26 minutes. Kim Kallstrom re-established the lead just short of the hour mark marking Sweden’s qualification to Euro 2008.

San Marino 0 - Slovakia 5 (Euro 2008 qualifier, November 21, 2007) Michalik opened the scoring. Holosko and Hamsik both scored in the second-half before Cech rounded things off with a late brace.
Romania 6 - Albania 1 (Euro 2008 qualifier, November 21, 2007) Nicolae Dica and Daniel Niculae scored twice. The other goals came from Tamas, who scored a free-kick, and from Marica who converted a penalty.
Malta 1 - Norway 4 (Euro 2008 qualifier, November 21, 2007) A hat-trick by Steffen Iversen was not enough to send Norway through to next year’s finals.
Israel 1 - Macedonia 0 (Euro 2008 qualifier, November 21, 2007) Elyaniv Barda scored the only goal of a game.

Ecuador 5 - Peru 1 (World Cup 2010 qualifier, November 21, 2007) Ecuador raced to a 3-0 lead with goals from Walter Ayovi, Ivan Kaviedes and Edison Mendez. Ayovi and Mendez scored again after halftime. Mendoza scored Peru’s consolation.
Chile 0 - Paraguay 3 (World Cup 2010 qualifier, November 21, 2007) Salvador Cabanas pounced on poor defending to put Paraguay ahead midway through the first-half, before Paulo da Silva scored with two headers, both from corners, either side of halftime. Paraguay lead the 10-team group with 10 points from four games.
